It is a unique partnership between the public and private sectors, with participation drawn from organisations such as Mansfield District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Business Link, EMDA, Mansfield Area Strategic Partnership, Mansfield Town Centre Partnership, West Notts College and businesses of all sectors and sizes - in short, everyone with a vested interest in seeing the North Nottinghamshire region thrive and grow.
We at Mansfield 2020 promote innovation, support and nurture inward investment and create a platform for dialogue between all agencies in the private and public sectors. We drive forward regeneration in our local communities and help guide initiatives for everyone to benefit from.
We hold a monthly breakfast meeting, which has evolved into a premier networking event and has been hailed as the best in the county and perhaps the country. These successful meetings are extremely well attended by the local business fraternity, with a regular attendance of over 130 members and have attracted big-name speakers including the Governor of the Bank of England, Chairman of the CBI, The Rt Hon Lord Joel Barnett (House of Lords), Justin Urquhart-Stewart (financial guru), and Nottinghamshire Police Chief Constable.
Our geographical coverage focuses primarily on an area that stretches between the M1 and A1 (M) motorways down to the north of the City of Nottingham and up to the northern boundary of the county of Nottinghamshire; however it is also fully recognised that the economy of an area is interlocked with the prosperity of the East Midlands region and, more broadly, the UK and EC as a whole.
"Over the years we have made immense progress from the bleak times in the early 1990's when we were faced with the demise of our traditional industries. There are still many challenges ahead and we are confident that we will continue to move Mansfield towards a better future."
Irvin Robinson - Chairman
