A successful entrant in this category will need to demonstrate the
following measurers of the organisation. The judges will be looking
for evidence of:
• fulfilment of aims
• local job creation
• management and leadership
• membership/community involvement
• commitment of staff involvement
The Business Innovation Award Sponsored by Barclays Bank
This category is open to any organisation, irrespective of size. The judges will be looking for evidence of:
• development within the last three years of an innovative product, process or service, or a new way of working
• local job creation
• commercial relevance of the development and actual or projected commercial success
• benefit of the development to the customer or business
• clear written description of the development (layman's terms as far as possible) and its background, including any details of protection obtained
The Business Person of the Year Award Sponsored by NatWest Commercial Banking
The 2020 Business Person of the Year will be an employed
or self-employed person working at any level within an organisation
who has brought lasting financial and non-financial benefits to their
organisation through their efforts.
A business colleague, partner
or client must countersign the entry as evidence of some one who
has:
• developed and implemented successful business solutions
• implemented plans to reduce costs and improve efficiency
• actively taken steps to exceed customer expectations
• raised the profile of their organisation

Entries in all categories will automatically be considered for this overall award; there is no separate entry:
The winner will be the business most able to demonstrate:
• all-round achievement
• a clear vision for the future
• success against objectives
• sustained growth
