Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 together we mean business

Energy Saving Measures Valued up to £6,000 Available for SME's!

This includes ASHP - heating and cooling systems! The most efficient measure available of the Energy Efficiency Fund.

Several 2020 members have already completed the straight forward process and now benefiting from a temperature control work place!

A heat pump can save you up to nearly 4 times more energy than a gas boiler, uses mains electricity to operate and are incredibly efficient. A heat pump is designed to move thermal energy in the opposite direction of spontaneous heat flow by absorbing heat from an outside space and releasing it to a conditioned space indoors.

A heat pump in Layman’s terms basically works like a refrigerator but in reverse. Depending on the model selected for every 1 KW of electricity used it can produce up to 4.65 KW of heat. Standard electric heaters which have a poor efficiency for every 1KW used they produce 1KW of heat. Even the most efficient boilers can only produce 0.95kw of heat from 1kw consumed.

Under the Government proposal it is unlikely that any new build houses will have gas boilers fitted from 2016 as all new homes need to be zero carbon. This is achieved by offsetting carbon used by renewable measures.

The heat pump is reversible which means it is also capable of cooling (air conditioning). Although air-conditioning is not energy saving as such, the energy saving during the winter months should still give you some carbon free cooling.

Sounds too good to be true…. 2020 can guarantee it’s 100% true.

If you are a micro business and meet any one of the following conditions:

· Use less than 100,000 kWh of electricity a year and can provide your bills

· Use less than 293,000 kWh of gas a year and can provide your bills

· Have fewer than 10 employees (or their full-time equivalent) and your yearly turnover,

· or yearly balance sheet, is not more than 2 million Euros.

· Have been within the property more than 1 year

The British Gas Energy Efficiency Fund is designed to help micro-businesses manage their energy costs in the long-term, by providing free expert advice and energy efficiency measures.

Here is what will happen:

Register your interest through 4energy, and British Gas will take you through eligibility. Following acceptance, you will receive a free on-site energy survey, which may lead to a fully-funded installation of energy saving measures valued up to £6,000 per business, helping you save money on your energy bill.

Site surveys will identify the right range of measures that can be delivered at your site – this could include new Air Source Heat Pump, LED lighting, a boiler replacement, new insulation or other methods to control your energy use.

Here is who will do it:

4energy, who are a local SME, will undertake register your interest and will complete the survey. After the survey, if appropriate, 4energy will install specific measures.

4energy will also provide an intelligent software platform through a web interface that will provide monitoring of the AHSP, specifically power of the device and temperature of the environment.

Here is proof from a leading SME business owner:

Managing Director of Kirkby in Ashfield based Global EMC Garry Pitchford shared his experience of the process:

'4energy contacted me 2 weeks ago to tell me I was eligible for a fully-funded installation of energy saving measures valued up to £6,000. As any other busy business director my immediate reaction was to dismiss.

However, I was intrigued so we arranged a meeting, it was straight forward, professional with no hidden agenda or strings attached. Following the meeting, 4energy completed a survey.

Less than 2 weeks later, they came to install a HVAC application (air source heat pump) which delivers energy efficient cooling and heating

The process took 3 days, did not cause any disruption to our operation and the results have had impact an immediate – as a business we are not only saving money on energy bills but our work environment is comfortable.'
