Fidler & Pepper Solicitors has been awarded the coveted Silver Accreditation from Investors in People (IIP), the internationally-recognised standard for assessing an organisation’s genuine commitment to the management and development of its people.
Fidler & Pepper was first awarded the IIP standard in the early 2000s but this is the first time it has been awarded the Silver level, which fully recognises the firm’s ongoing drive to support the development of its employees.
The firm says that the accreditation “reflects perfectly” the hard work it has been doing as part of their overall strategy for looking after and developing its people. It also supports its ambitions to be well known as the employer of choice in the North Nottinghamshire area, where it has offices in Mansfield and in Sutton in Ashfield.
The Silver Standard was awarded after assessors from IIP carried out staff interviews, conducted confidential staff surveys, attended company away days, examined policies and procedures and spoke at length to members of the leadership team about their approach to the management of their employees and how this links to the success of the business.
Mark Slade, Managing Partner, said: “We have a very clear vision of how we want Fidler & Pepper to operate, and the guiding principle behind it is that we employ happy, motivated people.”
“I am particularly pleased that the assessors noted that our staff felt that they were a part of the firm’s future, and that we all understand our Vision and how we can all play a part in its success.”
IIP was founded in 1991, and its internationally-recognised accreditation system has “set the standard for better people management”.
Joanne Godson, Head of People and Operations at Fidler & Pepper said: “IIP is such an important accreditation for us and is awarded to organisations after a very detailed audit process against extremely strict criteria. Our IIP assessor was with us on and off for many months.
“The most important part of it for me is the feedback we get about what is important to our team of people, what we are doing well and most importantly what more we can do. That gives us a very clear framework that we can work with as part of our ongoing commitment to create a happy and successful place where people enjoy coming to work.”
Jo added: “Even though the Silver Accreditation has been awarded, our work with the assessor continues between now and the next assessment. This provides us with the perfect platform for everyone at Fidler & Pepper to examine the full IIP feedback report, and identify ways in which we can further enhance what we are already doing.”
