Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 together we mean business

Mansfield Web Marketing firm welcomed as a Career Champion

The award winning team that drives the Career Champion scheme in the Mansfield area to bridge the gap between young people and businesses were delighted to welcome the 71st local business as a Career Champion at the July Mansfield 2020 breakfast meeting.

Career Champion board member and Mansfield Learning Partnership director Berni Dickinson commented on SF Media signing up to take the pledge – ‘Since launching the scheme we have supported over 3770 students and now 71 businesses have signed up to help young people develop employability skills to secure future jobs, further training and education. We are delighted to welcome SF Media Solutions as our newest Career Champion. They have a lot to offer young people and together we will have a positive impact on our future workforce.’

SF Media Solutions are a Web Marketing and Development agency set up in 2011; they offer web design and development, eCommerce, marketing and advertising. Since the off-set they have demonstrated their desire to contribute to the business community from networking at Mansfield 2020 events to building a new website free of charge for local charity CVS.

Directors Pete and Jamie commented on taking the pledge to be a Career Champion - “We are delighted to be part of the program and to become a Career Champion. We feel it’s important for local businesses to give a little back and help to support young people.

We have already been involved in mentoring students at West Notts College in Ashfield, and currently have two HND students doing work experience with us, so being recognised as a Career Champion by Mansfield Learning Partnership was great. We’d urge all businesses locally to help future generations and get involved in this kind of project wherever possible.”

Local employers that sign up to be a Career Champion sign a pledge to deliver a number of activities including mentoring, sponsorship, work experience and master classes during the academic year. In return they can use the Career Champion Logo on their marketing materials, and be highlighted as a Career Champion in the local press.
