Student impresses Mansfield Manor Hotel

A student who was able to demonstrate his exceptional skills while on a work placement at Mansfield Manor Hotel has now gained part-time employment with the venue.

​2020 Asking Members to Have Your Say with Local Business Issues!

For over 25 years the 2020 business group has offered key information to members on a range of local issues and is actively involved in lobbying on behalf of members to support the business community.

In 2011 Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 formed the business group called Business Liaison group (BLG) to give the business community the opportunity to meet and voice concerns and discuss how to improve the working conditions in Mansfield and Ashfield.

​Businesses Inspiring Students and Families

25 employers showcased their business and wider sectors to 50 students aged 15-16 years and families at a Career Inspiration Event hosted by the Brunts Academy, a member of the Evolve Trust, on Wednesday 1st March.

Carl Atkin, Headteacher at Brunts said “The evening was about opening the minds of a selected group of year 10’s to the wide range of career opportunities with local employers. Employers play a key role in inspiring young people to achieve their potential and understand the importance of English and Maths qualifications in the workplace”

​Inspiring the next generation of construction workers

Robert Woodhead Ltd has joined forces with Dukeries Academy in Ollerton to encourage students to become the next generation of joiners, plasterers, plumbers, electricians and painters.

Set up as part of Woodhead's BIG (Building to Inspire a Generation) initiative, the Edwinstowe-based company will offer young people at Dukeries even more opportunities to learn about the construction industry, spend time in a ‘real world' site environment and learn key interview and CV writing skills, preparing them for the world of work.
