Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 together we mean business

Our members share their thoughts about Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 Business Development Group:

We have been connecting people and building our business community for over 20 years. Being a member of 2020 means being a part of the wider business community and never missing an opportunity. Don't just take our word for it.....Here is what our members think....

As members of 2020 since 2015, Pendragon Training Academy have acquired an increased awareness of both local business and the local economy in the Mansfield area. We have over the last year acquired a growing network of business contacts along with an abundance of support and encouragement.

The Academy is a habitual attender at the 2020 Breakfast Meeting, regularly changing our attendees to target different potential contacts; we find this effectively supports our interest in meeting new people whilst gaining a deeper awareness of how we can ‘do business’ in Mansfield and surrounding areas. This is particularly relevant in relation to the training, meeting and conference space we have available at our special Mansfield 2020 rates, alongside extending a number of opportunities to our local business network to attend one our business relevant workshops at substantially discounted rates.

To support our aims of being a partner with 2020, we sponsored the July 2016 Breakfast Meeting. Caroline Cox and the 2020 team were very supportive in helping with the logistics, both before the event and on the day.

We found the sponsorship package reasonably priced at £350+ vat, this presented us with a number of opportunities to reach our audience, which included:

· An allocated presentation time to present to the Breakfast delegates on our business and how we might be able to help them or work together

· An exclusive Pendragon Training Academy stand in the welcome area

· We were also able to leave promotional items at each place setting

· We sponsored a raffle prize.

· Additionally 2 of the Academy team were interviewed on Mansfield local radio providing us with a further opportunity to promote ourselves to an even wider audience.

All in all, the Breakfast presented us with a great opportunity and, if you are a business diversifying, a new start up or just wanting to promote your services, do please consider sponsoring a future Breakfast event.

‘An excellent forum for meeting new business contacts and potential clients. Since joining 2020 I have become acquainted with the local business community and generated new business for the firm.’

Stuart Hastings, Bruton Knowles.

‘To be sponsors at the 2020 meeting was a fantastic opportunity for us. We had the chance to raise awareness of Portland College, the needs of our students and our future plans. To present in front of so many local businesses in one sitting is a great advantage and enabled us to promote the details our new Sports Academy, events and corporate involvement to a huge range of people.

2020 is a great platform for spreading the word of any business and I highly recommend it.’

Andrea Hudson, Portland College.

“2020 is a key organisation in helping to raise the prospects and aspirations of the local area. It provides a powerful voice for business innovation and regeneration. It connects all of the key people within the community whether from public or private sector to make a real difference.

Membership provides many benefits, not least the opportunity to make the right connections to further your own business. It has become an essential part of the Mansfield and Ashfield business community”

Dame Asha Khemka, Vision West Nottinghamshire College

A place to do business, meet friends and learn new skills. Like everything else though, you only get out what you put in.

You guys offer much more than networking. We’d certainly like to be at the next one, and can see the benefits in being involved. Not just from a networking side of things, but because it seems it is the place to be to rub shoulders with a large group of local business owners. I recognised a few faces at the meeting from the past, people I’ve worked for or know about.

When we do join, we’d also be interested in speaking in the future at a meeting. We could provide an insightful presentation / pitch with regards a few different web based topics.

Being a 2020 member enables me to keep abreast of the issues concerning Mansfield and Ashfield based businesses. I am certain that the 2020 group has played a key role in attracting investment and driving positive changes that have impacted on the success of Mansfield and Ashfield businesses and the region as a whole.

Matt Wheatcroft, Purpose Media

I must say 2020 surpassed my expectations, I have been to a number of networking clubs, none the calibre of this one, which is not to discredit other meetings. The variety of key people attending from our local economy is of huge benefit, not just for the potential to network and increase business opportunities, but to make a real improvement to the local economy through collective awareness and action.

I am very much looking forward to the next breakfast meeting and becoming a regular face in the local business community.

Joining 2020 has enabled us to increase our business profile in the region leading directly to increased sales and growth.

Much more than that, it has also introduced us to a network of like minded people with a passion to make local businesses and enterprises succeed and flourish for the benefit of the community as a whole.

Chris Needham, Midland Insurance.

By working at the side of 2020, Fiducia is part of the much wider business community. In turn this makes us more informed and more effective as we seek to fully understand & meet the needs of our clients.

Anthony Scott, Fiducia Group

To me 2020 is about many things but the main ones are firstly, the ability to know and meet other people from the area who are trying to make this area a better area. Not just business people but people from all walks of life unusually united in one cause - to make the area a better area.

Secondly, business locally and nationally plays a very small role in politics. To a certain degree, business has lost its voice, in spite of the fact that employment seems to remain one of the keys to social stability. 2020 gives business people the chance to have a voice and to push for the ‘pace of business’ to be inserted into local politics and the improving of our community.

Thirdly, there is the networking. Like it or hate it, it needs to be! Knowing who can supply you locally or who you can sell to locally or who does what locally is a big issue for any community. 2020, with it’s monthly busy/fizzy breakfast meetings provides a great and efficient forum to enable this to happen.

There are many other benefits from 2020 membership, some useful all the time and others ‘just when you need them’. For Linney Group, being part of a busy/ pacey organisation is a nice way to be involved in the community – it’s refreshing!
