Last year 65 people slept overnight in St. Markís Church car park to raise money for homeless people in Mansfield.† Well over £12,000 was collected!† It was challenging but a very enjoyable and rewarding occasion for those taking part.
The Mansfield Big Snore team is inviting you, your colleagues, friends and family, any church or youth groups, to support the 2012 event.† We hope it will be bigger and even more successful than last time. Funds raised by sponsorship will go directly to support Framework services in Mansfield, including the Sherwood Street Emergency Accommodation Centre and teams who work with people in their own homes to prevent homelessness.
Homelessness affects thousands of local people every year for reasons such as domestic violence, family breakdown, mental health problems and unemployment. Rates of rough sleeping and homelessness are on the increase and there have been dramatic cuts to funding. The Mansfield Big Snore aims to make homelessness visible for one night and to raise valuable funds to help support vulnerable people in the community.
If you canít sleep out on the night, there are other ways in which you can help. You can make a donation by going to www.mansfieldbigsnore.org, or get your school or workplace involved in raising funds.
You can register for the Mansfield Big Snore by:
- Visiting www.mansfieldbigsnore.org where there is further information
- Filling in the slip with this letter and return it to Framework
- Calling Frameworkís Mansfield Big Snore team on 0115 9709515
You must register beforehand to take part in the event but get in quickly as places are limited!
We really look forward to seeing you on the night.†
